Mr. Lapointe spent ten years with Société d’Analyses Economiques et Financières, a French-based investment advisor, acting as global equities portfolio manager and co-chief of strategy. Prior to that he was with Bank of America (New York) as an Asian equity trader and Optimum Gestion (Montréal) as an international equities portfolio manager.
He has managed portfolios and traded in equities, currencies and commodities on the world’s major exchanges since 1994.
Mr. Lapointe holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia. He speaks French and Mandarin.
Apart from his activities in the financial world, he teaches martial arts.
